Grant allows FFF to provide refrigerated pantry items

Thanks to a grant from the Wyoming Hunger Initiative, Johnson County Friends Feeding Friends recently purchased three mini fridges to offer perishable food to students through our pantries at New West, Kaycee School and Buffalo High School. Throughout the day, students can pick from healthy snacks like carrots, yogurt, grapes, cheese and more.

FFF is incredibly thankful to the Wyoming Hunger Initiative, which is led by Wyoming’s First Lady, and Johnson County’s own, Jennie Gordon.

“Long before I became the First Lady, I learned from a friend about children in Sheridan County who struggled with food insecurity,” Gordon said on the program’s website. “I’ve never forgotten about those children and have made it a priority to work toward a future where hunger no longer exists in our state.”

Johnson County Friends Feeding Friends has the same goal for Johnson County. With the help of grants like this and donations from amazing residents, we are on our way to reaching that goal.
