[Johnson County], WY – Johnson County Friends Feeding Friends is pleased to announce that it was a recipient of the Hazel Patterson Memorial Grant. The grant is named in honor of Hazel Patterson, a longtime Wyoming resident and philanthropist who dedicated much of her life to supporting charitable organizations in the state. This grant is designed to provide general operating support to nonprofits that serve Wyoming Communities.
JC-FFF has been providing food assistance to kids in Johnson County since 2018. They send home over 150 weekend food bags weekly, as well as provide fresh fruit and snacks to the five participating school pantries. Friends Feeding Friends is also helping to provide shelf stable food for our local community mini-pantries, located in Buffalo and Kaycee, Wyoming.
“We are so grateful to receive the Hazel Patterson Memorial Grant,” said Sharon Miller, Program Coordinator for JC-FFF. “Increased food costs at the grocery stores are affecting the people in our community. We are seeing our bag numbers increase weekly. This grant money is such a gift to our program. It will help to ensure that we have the funds necessary to meet the increasing demand.”
The Wyoming Community Foundation is a nonprofit organization that works with donors to support the charitable causes they care about most. In 2021 the Wyoming Community Foundation granted over $8 million to charitable causes across the state. For more information call 307-721-8300 or visit their website at www.wycf.org.
