Friends Feeding Friends has been doing one or two food giveaways each year. One of the trickier parts of food storage is keeping the food rotated. Newest items have to go in the back, which requires a lot of heavy lifting for our volunteers. Each summer we do an inventory of what foods we have that are nearing expiration dates and do our best to get the food out to the people in our community in need.
“I had a big food bank order coming in, so I had to make some room in the storage. The best way to do that is to have a food giveaway.” Breean Waller said.
The food giveaway was a great success with nearly all the items being taken. It’s a great way to reach the community and to let the everyone know where our new location is too!
