As we approach the holiday season, we want to take a moment to express our heartfelt thanks to the Rowdy Rider 4H Club for their incredible support in filling weekend bags for students before the Thanksgiving break. These bags, filled with nutritious meals and snacks, are essential for families facing food insecurity, especially during the holiday season when children may not have access to regular school meals.
Food insecurity is a pressing issue for many families during the holidays. When school is out for the break, some children no longer have access to the free or reduced-price meals they depend on. At JC-FFF (Johnson County Friends Feeding Friends), we believe that no child should go hungry, especially during such a special time of year. By providing these weekend bags, we aim to make sure every child can enjoy a nutritious meal at home, without the worry of where their next meal will come from.
We are also deeply grateful for the work of 4H clubs, such as the Rowdy Rider 4H Club, who go above and beyond in supporting their communities. 4H is an incredible organization that empowers young people to learn leadership, citizenship, and life skills while making a difference. Their hands-on service projects teach kids the importance of giving back and making an impact in the lives of others. The Rowdy Rider 4H Club’s effort to help fight food insecurity reflects the true spirit of 4H: making the world a better place, one act of service at a time.
Thank you, Rowdy Rider 4H Club, for your generosity and commitment to our community. Together, we can ensure that no child goes hungry this holiday season.
Happy Thanksgiving from all of us at JC-FFF!
