The 3rd Annual “Race for the Rest of Us,” hosted by Johnson County Friends Feeding Friends, was a huge success! Held on a beautiful Thursday evening, the race kicked off at Crazy Woman Square, with participants excited to show off their speed—or simply enjoy the stroll.
The race route followed the scenic Clear Creek walking trail, offering participants the chance to take in the sights and sounds of the creek as they made their way to the finish line. The .5K distance was perfect for all ages and abilities, making it a truly inclusive event.
At the halfway mark, racers were treated to a delightful carb-loading station featuring fresh donuts. Because, let’s face it, there’s nothing quite like a sweet treat to fuel you through the second half of a race!
The best part about the Race for the Rest of Us is that it’s designed for everyone—regardless of physical ability or age. Whether you’re a baby in a stroller, an energetic teen, or part of the older crowd, this race welcomes all. And for those who preferred to skip the walking altogether, the VIP option allowed participants to catch a ride to the finish line in the Friends Feeding Friends’ brand-new Food Van!
The finish line at Buffalo City Park was a lively scene, with the very talented Kowboy Keith providing fantastic live music. Racers and supporters alike enjoyed a delicious catered meal from Webber Grill, along with refreshing soda and water generously provided by Pepsi Co. A special thank you goes out to the Buffalo Bulletin for helping spread the word about the race.
