Blue Ribbon 4H Club Steps Up for Johnson County Friends Feeding Friends

This past week, the Blue Ribbon 4H Club came together to fill nearly 150 weekend food bags for Johnson County Friends Feeding Friends, a local organization dedicated to providing meals to children in need. These food bags ensure that kids who rely on school lunches during the week don’t go hungry over the weekend, providing critical nutrition and support.

Friends Feeding Friends has been a pillar in the Johnson County community, offering consistent help to families facing food insecurity. Their mission is simple but vital: no child should go without a meal. Thanks to volunteers and groups like Blue Ribbon 4H, the organization continues to expand its outreach, making a tangible difference in the lives of local families.

The 4H Club’s involvement in efforts like this is a testament to the value of community service and leadership development. 4H empowers youth to take initiative, learn responsibility, and work together—all while giving back to their community. Through programs in agriculture, leadership, and citizenship, 4H plays a crucial role in building strong, supportive communities. By participating in projects like this one, 4H members not only help feed local children but also strengthen the bonds that hold their community together.
