Thank you Stirrups 4H Club!

This week, the kids from the Stirrups 4-H Club came together to make a meaningful contribution to Johnson County Friends Feeding Friends. Though their team was small, they packed over 140 weekend food bags for local children in need. Their spirit, determination, and commitment to the community were evident as they took on the task with enthusiasm.

4-H is more than just an after-school activity. It’s a way for kids to develop valuable life skills and build strong character through hands-on learning. Members of 4-H clubs like Stirrups participate in a variety of projects that teach them responsibility, teamwork, and leadership. From raising and caring for animals, learning agricultural practices, cooking, gardening, and crafting, these kids grow up with a deep understanding of hard work and service. The skills they learn are not only beneficial for their personal development but also help strengthen the fabric of the community.

The spirit of 4-H is rooted in community service. By participating in activities like packing food bags for those in need, these young individuals gain firsthand experience in giving back. Their efforts help ensure that children in our county have access to nutritious meals, even over the weekends when school meals aren’t available. This sense of community responsibility is something 4-H instills in its members from a young age, helping them become compassionate, proactive citizens who are eager to make a difference.
