Johnson County Friends Feeding Friends was excited to welcome the Buffalo Trail Blazers 4-H Club to our packing facility this week! These awesome young volunteers showed up ready to make a difference — and thanks to their helping hands, we were able to pack dozens of weekend food bags for kids in need throughout Johnson County.
4-H is one of the largest youth development organizations in the country, with a mission to empower young people with the skills they need to lead for a lifetime. Through projects in health, science, agriculture, and civic engagement, 4-H encourages responsibility, confidence, and a heart for service. The Buffalo Trail Blazers are a shining example of this mission in action.
Why does volunteering matter?
Because every act of service, no matter how small, has the power to change lives. When youth step up to help others in their community — especially other kids — they’re learning the value of compassion, teamwork, and leadership. They’re also making sure their neighbors don’t go hungry over the weekend.
We are so grateful to the Buffalo Trail Blazers 4-H Club and their amazing leaders for showing up and showing what true community spirit looks like. Thank you for being part of the mission to end food insecurity in Johnson County.
