Wrapping Up the School Year with Gratitude: Thank You, Memorial Day Volunteers!

As the school year comes to a close, we at Johnson County Friends Feeding Friends are filled with immense gratitude for the dedicated volunteers who helped us finish strong. On Memorial Day a special group of volunteers stepped up to serve their community. Thanks to Christina Perry, Ruth Straessler, and our new FFF coordinators Monica Jespersen and Tracey Ostheimer, we packed 102 weekend food bags—our final delivery for the 2024–2025 school year! These bags provide essential nourishment for local students over the weekend, and this last delivery marks the culmination of another impactful year serving children and families across Johnson County.

We are especially excited to welcome Monica and Tracey as our new Friends Feeding Friends coordinators. Their leadership, passion, and heart for service are already making a difference, and we’re looking forward to what the future holds with them at the helm.

As we reflect on a successful year, we are so proud of what we’ve accomplished together—from our regular Wednesday packing days to special moments like this. To all our volunteers past and present: thank you for being the heart of Friends Feeding Friends. We couldn’t do this without you.

Our FFF Summer Food Program- Free Lunches for Kids- begins June 4th. More information will be posted soon!

With gratitude,
The Johnson County Friends Feeding Friends Team
