A HUGE thank you to all of our Friends!

It was indeed a monumental week for Johnson County Friends Feeding Friends! We’re thrilled to announce our official relocation to 963 Fort St Unit 3, marking a significant milestone in our journey. And we could not have done it without a little help from our FRIENDS!

We would like to give our sincere gratitude to the Buffalo Christian Academy students who spent an afternoon helping to set up the packing table, unloading the food truck, and moving our first big load of food to the new facility.  The kids worked really hard hauling in shelving, pallets and heavy canned goods.  Working with the kids at BCA is one of the highlights this job.

Friday brought yet another momentous event as we witnessed an overwhelming turnout of friends rallying to our cause. “I was absolutely blown away by the number of people who showed up to help us move. With it being Good Friday, I wasn’t sure if anyone would be able to help,” remarked program coordinator Breean Waller.

And help they did… Over 30 volunteers arrived with their pickup trucks, demonstrating an inspiring display of community solidarity. Special appreciation goes out to the Boy Scout Troop 425, Clover Colts 4H club, and the Rowdy Riders 4H clubs for their exceptional involvement. Witnessing so many young individuals actively participating in the effort was truly heartwarming.

“My mind was literally blown when we had the entire facility packed up in less than 20 minutes!” Waller exclaimed. What I thought would take several hours was accomplished with remarkable speed. While the unpacking phase naturally took a bit longer, it was a testament to the adage, “Many hands make light work.”

We extend our sincerest thanks to every individual, young and old, who generously contributed their time and effort to make this relocation possible.  Thank you for being such good friends!
